I don’t know how it slipped up on me but the end of the year is here! You know what that means? It’s almost Christmas! As in a week from today!! How is this possible? My son has been talking more and more about presents and Santa and the Menorah. He’s picking up everything about the holiday season from school. He’s super excited about our Christmas tree (we just got it this weekend). I’m guessing he’ll be even more excited on Christmas morning when there are presents bearing his name.
Once it finally kicked in that Christmas was upon us, I started to wonder what the heck to get the little dude and his sister. My little guy just had a birthday last month and so there is no shortage of toys around here. I’ve been doing all kinds of searches to see what kinds of things people are buying for their kids right now.
- Parents are really going for board games, dolls and building toys.
That sounds about right for me. I have been all about learning toys for the little man. He loves to build things and he’s really gotten into board games lately.I have my eyes on this:
- According to the survey, for us, the Christmas holiday is all about our kids! They’re the number one priority when it comes to gift giving.
I’d have to agree with that. In past years, my husband and I used to talk and drop hints about what we’d like for Christmas. Now we just check in about what to get the kids to make sure we’re on the same page gift wise. Yes, it’s all about them.
- There was one thing the survey found that didn’t hold true with me. Apparently, more than half of us wait until Christmas Day to open presents.
This is only partially true for me. Growing up, we always opened one present on Christmas Eve. We opened the rest on Christmas morning. I guess we were just impatient that way. :-/ That’s a tradition I now share with my kids.
