Where are my reality cameras?

Is it crazy that I want to be in a reality show? Not one for television. I just want to have one for my own personal use. Here’s the reason. I feel like it’s hitting me more and more that my babies are growing up  way too fast. I don’t want to forget a moment of their childhood. I’m not even talking about the big milestones. I’m talking about the way my daughter’s ‘R” sounds like “W”. So she says “Fwozen” and “Gwanny”. It’s too cute. I don’t want to forget what that sounds like. Or how my son gets so concerned when his baby sister is upset and offers her a toy to “feel her better”.

december dump 1278There are all of these moments I want to keep. I want to be able to replay them because I know as time goes on I won’t remember every single thing. And I want to remember every single thing. I love how much they still want to snuggle with me. I love how their little hands feel clutching mine. I love how my daughter plays at the park and randomly stops to say “Mommy, I love you in my heart.”

december dump 1596I pray that my babies will stay as close to me as  I am to my own mom. There’s never been a time that we weren’t close. I want that with my own babies.

To make up for my not having a reality crew following our every moment, I tend to take a million pictures and videos of them. I take so many pictures that they request them. I need to get a bit more sly with my moment capturing obsession.

december dump 1322I’m pretty sure this is why people keep having babies. You watch your kids grow up before your eyes. You begin to realize that time does move way too fast. The next thing you know, there’s another baby on the way. I’m not there. I don’t feel the need to grow our family. I just really want to enjoy each moment with my babies. I want to make sure I’m present for the big ones and the small ones. They are awesome little people. Watching them learn and grow and figure things out does my heart all kinds of good. Even though I can’t capture every moment, I am making a point to live every moment  – eyes and heart wide open.

It’s the little things and you’d be surprised at how much you actually do remember.

Kids do grow up so fast don’t they? It is like one minute they are babies then they are 10!

I know the feeling. I need to do a better job at capturing my daughter’s daily life because it does seem like she is talking more and more and is becoming more clear with each passing day.

I wouldn’t want to be on a reality show but I wouldn’t mind someone documenting our lives so we can watch when we’re older :-D.

Yes yes yes! This is why I take so many pitcures! I just want to remember everything. I’m seriously thinking about starting to take more videos too. I want to remember how it sounds when he calls me Mama.

You’re so smart to soak it all up in the moments. If I hadn’t seen it all zip past me so quickly, I never would have believed it could happen. Darn those little ones…they really do grow up.

My 3-year-old has full conversations with me and I can remember how excited we were when he started saying his first words. Time flies. I want to hold onto these moments forever.

I dont have any kids but trust me, my friends and I need our own show too. Reality shows right now are so drama filled and negative and I know my show would be full of humor and just craziness!! Keep taking those pictures girlie!

I try to take as many pics as I can. It goes by so quickly and although they remember tons I still try to take pics and document everything!

I hope my little ones always stay close to me too. I have two who are grown and they’re close to me and their dad… now two more to go, and I hope we’re all always as tight as we are right now. 🙂

I love each and every day with my kids. I feel like time goes by so quickly but the truth is that I remember more from their being babies than I thought I would.

It is amazing how fast they grow up. One minute you are hold them in your arms and the next they are turning 18. I took lots and lots of pictures.

I take a lot of photos too, to help remember those little things. I also keep a journal for each of my kids to write down the things I don’t want to forget. It’s crazy how quickly they grow up!

Pictures do capture and preserve those great moments. I wish I did that more

I could have written this exact post! I thought time was flying by when we had our first son. When the second came along last December, it was like it doubled in speed. I capture as many moments as I can, but they don’t care for photos most of the time!

I can not believe how fast the last 21 years has flown by. My kids are 21 and 17 now and it seems like yesterday they were born.

I love that your kids are actually asking to have their pictures taken now. That’s hilarious!

As a mom with grown girls I can tell you that you will always remember certain things- We still ask my daughter if she wants pan-a-cakes or wear a balkini. These will never leave you and you’re lucky with all the pics and video you get to take now. Just be sure to preserve it!

Its sounds like you need your own camera crew! The kids sound like they wouldn’t be upset by it. =D

There will be things you will remember. They are always etched in your heart.

When kiddo was about 3-4 she would say destructions instead of instructions. We still say that to her. She also would say collage cheese instead of cottage cheese. We still say that too from time to time. It seems like you will forget things as each new day brings more. But, you’ll always remember and something will always trigger a memory you thoughts you might forget.

I recommend turning on your video camera and just letting it run. You’ll have so many memories to look at later

This is why my camera is always handy. I snap pics and take videos all the time because I don’t want to miss a thing and I want to remember it all.

As a blogger it’s tough sometimes deciding between living the moment and capturing the moment. I try to make sure there’s a balance between both

Yes! I know exactly how you feel. Sometimes moments with our family go by so fast that you want to hit rewind and enjoy them again!

Great picture of you with the sunrays behind. Why do kids have to grow up so quickly? I feel like mine are growing too fast, slow down!

I totally agree with you, this is why I do take so many pictures of my kids and actually why I blog. I’ve loved ever second of doing my blog not just for myself but for what I hope my children will enjoy of it when they get older.

I’ve been feeling this a LOT too. I find myself doing silly things like counting the eyelashes or holding on a bit too long for a hug, or staring a bit too long. It almost makes it hard to breathe for a bit! On the other end though, I feel more connected to them, able to slow down the crazy and appreciate every single moment.

My three kids are growing way too fast! I still refer to my two year old as the baby because he is my baby.

I don’t blame you at all! I wouldn’t mind having a personal reality show so that I could look back at all the lovely moments with my daughter.

Sometimes I think we all want that reality show camera so we can look back and watch videos of our kids. They grow so incredibly fast that we forget that we go weeks without taking videos of them. Thanks for the reminder to take more videos!

I’m not a mom but I am always shocked by how quickly time passes. I know it will go even faster once I have kids.

    P. S. Your little ones sound adorable 🙂
